The Event - Youth Field Day
What is it?
This free learning event is open to all youths between the ages of six and seventeen. All youth (accompanied by a parent or guardian) will participate in 8 events such as shooting, fishing, trapping, fly tying, and other outdoor activities throughout this all day event. There is no cost; all equipment is provided. Please be sure to dress for the weather, as the event is rain or shine!!

FREE YOUTH FIELD DAY EVENT Various activities include fly tying, fishing, archery, BB guns, black powder, .22, and shotguns. There are also exhibits and demonstrations with the PA Game Commission, PA Fish Commission, snakes, predators and trapping. There is no fee to participate. All pre-registered youths will receive a free t-shirt and hat; lunch is served to all who attend. Registration is open between 6:30 am and 7:45am on the day of the event. You can register online (or for more information) at www.adamscountysoy.org or by phone at 717-579-7495. Please check in before 7:45 am as the event starts at 8:00am sharp, rain or shine.
THE ORGANIZATION South Central Outdoors for Youth (SOY) is a non profit organization started in 1991 for the express purpose of encouraging youth’s interest in the outdoors in a safe and controlled environment, with knowledgeable volunteers on hand to instruct and promote that interest. Its founders and volunteers believe that by giving youth and their parents/guardians a free day of various outdoor activities, children have the opportunity to experience various sports without cost to the family. If the child decides to continue with the sport, there are many knowledgeable volunteers available to give information and instructions. In addition to teaching various activities and encouraging interest in the outdoors, the South Central Outdoors for Youth (SOY) is achieving other purposes; to conserve and maintain our natural resources, introduce youth to safe, wholesome, legitimate and lifelong recreational activities; instill in the youth a relationship to the land and great outdoor interest; introduce youth to our natural resources in hopes that they become the responsible stewards of our natural resources; and to impart adequate knowledge to our youth concerning the necessity of conservation. And we also have a lot of fun!

We wanted to take a moment to say thank you....
We have many people to be very thankful to over the years. All the volunteers that have manned stations. All the donors that have help sponsor our events. All the members that worked for those donations. All the clubs that hosted our event. The Young Marines for all their help. And all the youth and guardians over the years! Thank you all fpr making this club successful.
I also want to thank two clubs in particular. McSherrystown Fish & Game and Carlisle Fish & Game. Thanks to these two clubs, our program will continue. Due to lack of volunteers, our program was almost disbanded this past year. But these two clubs stepped up and stopped that from happening. Thank you!
